SB=South Bridge，一般在主板的PCI-E接口旁边，主要对IDE/SATA接口、USB接口、PCI接口等进行控制。是主机板上重要芯片之一。

ATI发布了SB600南桥芯片，之前ATI的北桥芯片组常常搭配ULI的南桥芯片，不过不久之后ULI就被ATI的对手NVIDIA收购了。
SB600南桥芯片可以与ATI的多款北桥芯片搭配，其中包括了Radeon Xpress 3200、1600以及1100。它可以支持4个SATA II硬盘接口，并且支持RAID0、1、0+1等模式下的磁盘阵列。SB600还提供了对于NCQ本地指令排序技术的支持以及AHCI的支持。

SB600还可以提供多达10个 USB2.0接口以及6个PCI插槽，不过往往主板制造商为了节约成本而只提供3个。
除此以外，ATI还宣布Xpress 3200北桥芯片可以提供对于AM2架构处理器的支持，与此同时，华硕、华擎、升技、建基、钻石、精英、磐正、捷波以及微星都表示将推出搭配SB600南桥芯片的产品。
